I had my sixth and final competition in australia today before I head over seas tomorrow. I competed in the hurdles and my training partner competed next to me. Even though he does 110m hurdles and I do 100m hurdles we measured out his hurdles so that be could start right next to me. I felt really good today so there was going to be no excuse if I ran slow. I had everything I needed, great weather, great competitors and I personally felt great as well. I started off really good out of the blocks and just stormed away over the hurdles. The announcer for the comp who is also my coach was very excited and yelled over the microphone 12.79 sec which I could not believe I was expecting to run that sort of time in my first race over in Europe, so it just means that I am in great shape and it is shaping up to be a great season. My first European race is on Sunday in France so i’ll be be touch soon. just to let you know my packing is going really well. Till next time have fun. Love sal

Results
I had my fifth race of the season on Friday night, it didn’t turn out how I wanted it to go, the track was really wet from the days rain fall so that makes it really slow unfortunately. I was supposed to compete in the hurdles and the 200m. The hurdles ended up being a slow 13.03 sec run so after that I decided not to run the 200m because I knew that it was going to be slow so instead ran the 60m and the 100m, they weren’t so bad those results the 100m was 11.46 and the 60m was 7.38 sec which isn’t to far off my personal best of 7.30. So as you can see not the best results but I blame the track. I am just starting to pack for my over seas trip ok wednesday, it is going to be hard to pack for ten weeks without going over the luggage limit, I’ll let you know how I go. Love sal

5th comp
I have my 5th comp of the season tonight. I was supposed to do 3 races but my coach thinks that I will run sub 23 seconds for the 200m, so we decided to drop the 100m sprint and do the hurdles and 200m. I am feeling really fast and strong and do have the capability to run that fast it’s just a matter of doing it on the night. It is now 5 days till I head overseas to Europe and I really can’t wait to get over there and see what I can do. Anyway I’ll let you know how I go. I will try and get some photos of the comp tonight. Love sal

Comp
I had my first hurdles race on Saturday and cpmeted quite well. It was a strange day, the weather was quite off the wind kept changing direction, it would rain then it would stop and then the clouds came over and get cold then they would disappear and then the sun would come out and it would be hot. So with all that crazy weather I still managed to come out with a sub 13 second run of 12.92 sec in the hurdles, the coach was very happy and is very confident for the next coming weeks over in Europe. The other races went alright I won the 200m in a time of 23.30 and won the 100m in a time of 11.40. With three races in a day I was quite pleased with my performances and am very excited for the up coming season. I have another competition this Friday night and I’ll be racing in the hurdles, this will be my last race before heading over seas so I’ll want it to be fast. Anyway I’ll let you know how I go this week. Till then have fun love sal
Time to race
On Sunday the 14th I had my first real competition of the season, I was racing in the 100m and the 200m which was the first race of the day. I went into the 200m very nervous and scared, today I had someone else in the race who also could’ve won but knowing my competitive side I wasn’t going to let that happen. I ended winning my race in a personal best time of 23.02 and sliced 3 tenths off my old time which was 23.32 so I was very happy but absolutley exhausted and knowing that I had another race to run I felt worse. When the 100m was going to start I wasn’t nervous at all I felt fast and ready to go, I also won that race but I was quite dissappointed with my time of 11.43, it was into a head wind of 1.1 but I still felt like I could run faster than that. This weekend is my second competition and it will be a busy weekend on Saturday I am in the 100 m hurdles the 100m sprint and the 200m and on Sunday I have the 100m and the 200m, goodness I am exhausted just thinking about it. Well wish me luck I am going to need it just to get through the weekend. Till then have a good week. Love sal

My training squad
This is just some of my training squad, and yes they are all boys. Training with boys has really helped me to push myself a lot harder. We are all very competitive when we train, the boys don’t want me to beat them and I don’t want them to beat so sonetimes when I turn up to the track I feel nervous because it always feels like a competition. It can be hard being the only girl, boys being boys will sometimes walk off and laugh and joke about things that I will never understand and you can be left behind with no friends, but I can’t complain because these boys will push me to my absolute limits in and out of competition . I hope this gives you a little insight in how I feel in training and the people that help me to get there. Their names from left to right are brendon, Sam, Taylor, chris, Antony, Jacob and Bryce. Till next time have fun love sal
