My medical team who keeps me together

I thought that I would introduce you to my medical team now, their names are Britt Caling who is my physio and Thea Dillon who is my massage therapist. As an elite athlete you need a big team behind you who keep you together so that you can compete and train well, my team consists of 6 people, Sharon my coach Peter my gym coach Jen my biomechanics lady who has the science behind my technique and Andrea my pshycologist who keeps me sane before big championships. I also have a big tranining squad who i also call as part of my team, they keep the trainng fun and keep it real in the harder times.

I see Britt and Thea once a week each to keep my body in perfect condition every week, if i didnt see them then I think that my body would break down and that i would have a number of injuries every week. When I head over to europe in july it is going to be very tough without them so I have to make sure that I do all the strecthing I need to do and make sure that I wear my compression tights on all the time so that my body stays nice and lose for racing. The only time when I will get decent physio and massage will be when we fly to the training camp and when we are in the village before the championships in berlin so ill just have to be careful before then.

In my next blog I will try and have a picture of my track coach Sharon and my gym coach Peter and also I hope that I will be able to get a big picture of my training squad.

till next time have fun love sal

ps sorry the photo is the wrong way around having a couple of troubles with the phone.

My puppy and my man

I thought that I would introduce you to my little puppy oscar who is 7 months old and this is also my partner kieran. Evey time people lay on the floor oscar always has to join you, it is good company when there isn’t anyone home . An update on my training, all is going very well I am super fit at the moment I had 4 by 400meters this morning and my last 400m was run in 59 seconds which is really good for a girl. This weekend at the gold coast track I am running an individual 400meters, my goal is to run 54.50 my best to date is 55.15 which was run last year. The reason for me running this event is to see just how fit I am so wish me luck I am going to be in so much pain.

Hi everyone,

I thought that i would upload some of the photos that i took when i was over in Japan, these were taken, at trainng, at a shopping centre with a big ferris wheel and us at a japanese restaurant eating some interesting food, as you can see, Tamsyn didnt much like her food, she was trying fish eggs for the first time. Ill try and upload my race from the relay and the 100m in mynext blog, at the moment my coach is analysing the footage so ill have to wait a few days to get my camera back. talk to you soon. love sal

japan continued

Hi everyone,

sorry it has been a while had some troubles with phone and being able to send posts to you all.

i have come back from japan with good news and bad news, our relay team did not qualify for the world champs we missed out by 5 hundredths of a second so unfortunatley that is supposed to be our last chance, i think that athletics australia is going to give us one more chance in europe on the 15th of july so fingers crossed. I also ran in the 100m, all week i was saying there is no way that i am going to run i was very sick and had only done 2 weeks of speed work leading up to the competition so i was not feeling ready, after the relay though i felt i needed to do something else i feel like i hadnt done anything so i decided to run, i ended winning the race so unexpectedly i thought that i was goign to get flogged byt the japanese girls, but i just put my head down and did the work that i had to do in front of me.

i have taken a lot of photos of japan but cannot get them on the blog page as there is something wrong with the phone, once that gets all fixed ill show all the very funny photos of our experience in a japanese restaurant . there are also some photos of us goign to training and i will try and load a video of the relay race.

till then have fun love sal
