paying preparation bills

At the moment i am trying to get a hold of all the people who i apart of my preparations for the wedding and some people obviously do not want to get paid. Every time i try and call someone to get my final bill noone picks up or they dont get back to my messages that i leave on there phone or they do not reply to my emails for like a week or two.

oh well to bad for them i just hope they still turn up on my wedding day and everything goes to plan, and before any of you brides come back to me say nothing ever goes to plan i already know that hahah i have already had my fair share of things not going my way.

talk to you soon. sally

Sydney and Melbourne WOW

Well i think my idea to rin the two major comps of the australian season was a very good idea.

the results that i got from these two meets would never have been predicted about a month ago. In Sydney i contested the 100m and the 200m i won both of them and ran B Qualifyers for both of them in times of 11.39 and 23.19. In melbourne i decided to only concentrate on the 200m to see if i could achieve an A qualifyer unfortunatley that did not happen but i did win the event.

to have had about 3 weeks of preparation for these two competitions i think that i did very well and as i said before you would never have been able to predict this a month ago with how my injury was going..
i decided to run the comps because i had not had pain for a little while and i was training really well and i also could not stand seeing all the girls lining up competing and my name was there on the start list, so i decided that i have to be out there competing in an environment that i call normal and see what i could produce with everone else being in “great” shape, the reason i say it like that is becasue technically i should not have won those comps simply becasue the other girls have had far more preparation than i have and have had more race practice than i have, lets just say i put it down to my determination and mental strength and also the will to win when i am competing.

now that i have finished for the season i am going straight back into another preparation and that is getting ready fofr my wedding which is on the 3rd of april.

talk to you soon, sal

Sydney Grand Prix

I am here in sydney for my second race of the season, never thought i would make it this far, but here i am and i am ready to race.
the 100m is on first and i am so excited. I dont think that i have been this nervous to race in australia for a very long time. i am also down to run the 200m as well but not sure how fit i am to do a good time but we will see how i go. i most likely will be on then track to run it because i wont be able to sit still watching all the other girls out there on the track.

anyway best be off now to rest up for tomorrow.

television commecials

well it has been a busy couple of months for me. Even though i have not been competing this season because i have been dealing with my back injury, i have been keeping busy doing television commercials with Mc Donalds Gold coast acamdemy of sport and for the commonwealth games. It is quite an experience it is totally different to what i am used to on the track but it is also still reallydemanding and tiring as well. All the waiting around and then when your called it is go go go with stopping, although it is quite fun to do something different i dont think that i will be giving up my day job any time soo.

here are some photos from the commonwealth games shoot.

christmas party with AXA !!!!!

Woohoo, time to party and there is no better way to do it than going to luna park with a bunch of the axa staff kids, how exciting and maybe a little bit scary. I love going on rides as long as they are not to high as i have a fear of heights, but to tell you the truth i will most likely still go on them anyway.

I am heading to Melbourne tomorrow morning early on a 6am flight, so apologies to the AXA staff tomorrow morning if i am not quite with it when i come to speak to you all.
Training has been going really well and really bad at the same time, My back flared up again a couple of weeks ago and unfortunatly i think it is because of the heptathlon training so that has had to go. Now i am just focusing on getting back into training very slowly and safely.

other than that not much has been happening.
i look forward to seeing everyone down in melbourne.
take care sal.

New Challanges, New Goals and New Season

Well the last 2 weeks have been really good, I am trying a new event for six months and i am so excited about it. Heptathlon is an event with seven individual events in it. It involves 100m hurdles, High Jump 200meters, Shot Put, Long Jump, Javelin and The dreadful 800m at the end.
I have chosen this new event to add variety in my training to keep me motivated and stay excited about my sport.
After I came back from europe after the world championships, I was really down and really not motivated to train at all. I had a whole week off training when i started feeling like this to think about what i wanted out of this sport. I knew that my ultimate goal is to win an olympic gold medal and i know that i have the potential to achieve this, so i started thinking of ways to overcome my feelings and that is how i came up with heptathlons. I have always wanted to try a heptathlon at least once and i thought well why not go out there and give it a go, so I have and i have not looked back.
I have only been training for 2 weeks for the heptathlon and my first competition is on the 21st of november and it goes over 2 days so it is going to b interesting how i go.

I have now got new challanges to look forward to and that is competing for points and not just thinking abut who i am competing against. The thing is with heptathlons is, it is based on a points scheme, the faster you run, The higher you jump or the furher you throw, the more points you are going to get. Aiming to get these points is going to be a real challange for me as i am not as naturally talented at all the events specially the shot put and the high jump, i am not exactly the tallest person in the world. The national champs are on at the start of April and that is most likely going to be my last heptathlon for a while anyway.

So that is pretty much what is going on at the moment ill try my best to get some photos up of me doing some of these events in my next blog. Till then enjoy. love sal

Being Back At Home/ wedding plans

Being back at home is absolutley brilliant, I brought my Bridesmaids down for the weekend so that we could sort out dresses and make up and show them what their flowers are going to look like.
That weekend went great we got their dresses sorted within an hour and you wouldnt believe it i actually chose and bought my dress within an hour in the same shop, so we spent 2 hours in one shop and got everything we needed.
Training has been a little up and down the last week but i have now found something new that has lifted my motivation levels to go to training and have fun, I am not going to explain what that motivation is just yet I want to keep it a secret and let people know a little later on because it is quite different and it might shock a few people.
That is it for now, so have fun and keep smiling.
love sal

Home Sweet Home

Well i have been home now for about 1.5 weeks and it has been bliss, i was also very lucky as well. When we arrived on the wednesday the 23rd there was a huge dust storm in sydney that travelled up to queensland, we landed at about 6am in the morning and we arrived at home about 2 hours after that and then as soon as we dropped our bags on the floor the dust storm had hit our home, the reason we were lucky was becasue any flights coming in on that day were either delayed or cancelled.
That week i started back at training on the saturday and it felt so good to get back into training and to feel fit and strong again. I Started back in the gym today and i am so happy that it wasnt as hard as it was going to be, the exercises wer based around getting my core strong again so that my back will get better and that i hopefully wont have any more dramas.
Last week i went to browns plains little athletics to do a talk to the little athletes, and also try and inspire them to achieve there dreams and to work hard for what they want, the appearance was run by AXA and mission australia. These two organisations are sponsoring 10 indigenous athletes from the area in brisbane called Inala, these kids are a little disadvantaged compared to some of the other kids, so we thought that it would be great to help them out by helping them get to the little athletics centre in browns plains and also get them a uniform so that they can be apart of the group and fit in.

Wedding plans are going great. I had my bridesmaids down t the gold coast for a weekend to sort out sizes for their dresses, and i also chose my wedding dress which i was very excited about, but it is staying a secret till the actual day before i let nayone know what it looks like.

i think that is about it for now, ill keep in touch. P.S it my dog oscars birthday today he is 1 years old.

Everything comes to an end eventually.

I am leaving europe tomorrow bound for Australia, i cant tell you how excited i am for the flight home.

I have spent the last week of my holiday in spain. It has been so good here the weather has been really hot and the sun has been out, very different to england. Today we leave Spain and head back to my aunties for one more night before we leave for home.
This holiday has been all about laying by the pool and just relaxing, it has been very enjoyable and i think that i am ready to go back to training and get ready for the commonwealh games next year in india.

It was my birthday yesterday on the 19th of september and we went on a sight seeing bus in the distrit of costa del sol in spain, that is where our hotel is, it was really nice and it reminded me alot of monaco.. you will notice as well from the photos that i upload that it is similar. we also went to a mexican restaurant last night for my birthday dinner, i thought what i was ordering was those things that are wraps and you fill them your self, not sure what you call them and you fill them with meat or chicken with a sour cream and sauce. but what we got were similar but they were enchiladas that were already made up for you, we didnt really enjoy them but we didnt mind. We did enjoy our desert with our ice cream and crepes how can you go wrong.

I recieved and email from my coach on my birthday saying happy birthday and that your holidays are almost over, well thats not really what i wanted to hear, but i guess she is my coach and she wants to make sure that i am physically and mentally ready to go back t trainning.

anyway i better get going and start packing to leave spain and go back to london. see ya.
i will upload photos another day the internet at this hotel is really bad sorry.

hello form rome…again!!!

hello I am now in rome for the second time this year. The reason i cam here again was because i know that kieran really wanted to come to italy, he has always wanted to come here. I was supposed to be running on the 6th of september in a small town in Italy called Rieti about 1.5 hours from Rome and i thought, well, rome isnt far from this town maybe we could catch the train up here for a few days before i run my last major competition. I am obviously not running anymore this season, but we still had this accomodation booked so we still had to come, not that i am complaining i love it here, the people are great the weather is always hot and the food, well do i have to say anymore..

Before i came to Italy i was england with my family. I stayed with my aunty in kent for a couple of days, that is where i usually stay when i am basing myself in england to compete and Then to get out of her hair for a while i went up to North Yorkshire to visit my grandad for three days and that went…. well. The weather was horrble it rained most of the time and on the second day we were there it got down to 9 degrees in the day. The first day after we got there we went for a drive into the town, and we ended up being out for about a 5 drive, can you imagine a 5 hour drive and all you really see is green hills, it was terribly exciting. the second day we were going to go to a theme park which i was looking forward to it but the weather had turned sour. When we arrived we decided not to go in, it was raining and as i said before, it got down to 9 degrees, Kieran and I were waiting for the snow to come hahah, so then grandad thought it would be nice to go for another drive, so we went to a place that i cant rememeber the name of but it is where captain cook sailed off to, to come to australia and again this whole trip took 5 hours. I dont know why, but my grandad loves driving his car everywhere and thinks people love going on 5 hour journeys.

anyway…..
I am now in Italy and loving it, we leave on friday to go back to england for three days, then we are going to spain for a week before we come home on the 21st. We booked with this company that is called thomson and you can get all inclusive holiday which means that you pay for you air fares, your hotel, your food your drinks all in one so when you get there everything is done for you, i hope that it is worth it! ill let you know when i get back..
well i have to go now more things to go and see. talk to you later.
